Local-file disclosure via external entity resolution
Published May 27, 2022 · Updated Nov 6, 2024
XXE injection in Cisco TelePresence VCS Expressway before 14.0.7 allows remote authenticated users to read local files via XML uploads. Its file-parsing logic resolves external entity references in uploaded XML instead of rejecting them, returning files from the underlying system. Read/write privileges are required, and the default configuration is affected; the disclosed consequence is sensitive-file exposure.
