CVE-2022-20803Network attack vector

Scanning-process crash via OLE2 parser double free

Published Feb 17, 2023 · Updated Oct 28, 2024

Double free in the OLE2 parser in Cisco ClamAV 0.104.0 through 0.104.2 allows remote attackers to crash the scanning process. The parser uses realloc incorrectly while processing a crafted OLE2 file, allowing the same allocation to be freed twice. The file must reach a ClamAV scan; exploitation interrupts scanning but does not disclose or alter data.
