Arbitrary file write in Cisco Unified Communications Manager allows remote authenticated users to alter system files during upgrades. The software-upgrade path passes crafted variables to an improperly restricted system script, which overwrites or appends attacker-controlled data with root privileges. High-privilege authentication and execution of a system upgrade are required; successful exploitation corrupts selected system files.
