Authenticated XML injection via CLI parser
Published May 3, 2022 · Updated Nov 6, 2024
XML injection in Cisco Firepower Threat Defense Software CLI before 6.4.0.15 allows local authenticated users to alter parsing via crafted commands. The command parser accepts insufficiently validated input and processes injected XML, producing unexpected command handling and output. Exploitation requires authenticated local CLI access; demonstrated impact is limited to command-processing effects and unexpected output.
