Path traversal in Cisco IOS with IOx enabled allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary host files through the IOx API. The API insufficiently validates path-bearing command arguments, so crafted command requests escape the intended path and access files on the underlying host filesystem. Reachability requires valid high-privilege credentials and an IOS device configured with IOx; the reported consequence is file disclosure, not modification or service interruption.
