CVE-2022-2072Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Reflected and stored XSS via Quick Import name

Published Jul 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Cross-site scripting in Jeroen Peters Name Directory before 1.25.3 allows remote attackers to execute scripts via Quick Import. The Quick Import handler reflects the submitted name parameter without sanitization or output escaping, then persists the same payload in the database. Exploitation requires an authenticated WordPress user with Quick Import access to submit an attacker-crafted form; scripts run in the WordPress origin immediately and when the stored entry is viewed.
