OS command injection in Cisco IOx on Cisco IOS allows remote authenticated users to execute code as root through the IOx API. The Cisco Application Framework appends the package.yaml network interface name to a command array, joins it into a string, and invokes a shell without validation. Exploitation requires high-privilege API credentials, IOx enabled with an application configured, and deployment and activation of a crafted application package.
