OS command injection in Cisco Small Business RV router firmware allows remote attackers to execute commands as root through the PnP module. The firmware-update handler passes a user-supplied string to a system call without adequate validation, enabling command injection. Exploitation requires a man-in-the-middle position or a foothold on a network device connected to the router, and successful execution grants root control.
