Code execution and LLDP restart via malformed lengths
Published Dec 7, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper LLDP length handling in Cisco ATA 190 Series firmware allows remote attackers to execute code or restart the LLDP service. The LLDP parser processes packet header length fields without validating them against the associated data. Exploitation requires access to the same Layer 2 broadcast domain and can execute code on the device or interrupt LLDP through an unexpected restart.
