Authentication bypass in Cisco Duo for macOS before 2.0.0 allows physically proximate attackers to log in with an unassigned PIV smart card. The smart card login path fails to match the card's assigned user to the authenticating user before allowing the configured smart-card 2FA bypass. Physical access, a PIV smart card, and enabled smart-card bypass are required; successful exploitation defeats Duo authentication for the targeted Mac account.
