CVE-2022-20656Network attack vector

Authenticated arbitrary file write via HTTPS path traversal

Published Nov 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

Path traversal in Cisco Prime Infrastructure before 3.10 and EPNM before 5.1.3 allows remote authenticated users to write arbitrary files. The web-based management interface fails to validate an HTTPS URL before processing directory-traversal sequences, allowing a crafted request to select write locations outside the intended directory. Valid system credentials and network access to the HTTPS management interface are required; successful exploitation changes host-system files.
