Root command execution via unvalidated CLI argument
Published Nov 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 15, 2024
OS command injection in the CLI of multiple Cisco products allows local users to execute commands as the management process. The CLI passes an insufficiently validated process argument during process execution, allowing injected command syntax to reach the underlying operating system. An authenticated local account and access to the affected CLI are required; successful exploitation runs commands with the management framework's privileges, commonly root.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
