Denial of service in Cisco NX-OS Software allows attackers to restart the Cisco Discovery Protocol service via malicious messages. The service improperly handles a series of crafted Cisco Discovery Protocol messages, causing its process to fail and restart. Access to the same Layer 2 domain is required; repeated process failures can rarely restart the entire device.
