OS command execution via unsanitized image references
Published Jan 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
OS command injection in Jenkins Docker Commons Plugin 1.17 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute OS commands. The image-name and tag handling uses these values in OS command construction without sanitization, allowing crafted input to become command syntax. Reachability requires Item/Configure permission or control of a previously configured job's SCM repository, and commands run on the Jenkins host.
