Remote memory disclosure via missing codec bounds check
Published Dec 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 18, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in the Google Pixel modem allows remote attackers with System privileges to disclose memory via a crafted radio message. SAEMM_MiningCodecTableWithMsgIE in SAEMM_RadioMessageCodec.c uses a message information-element value without first checking its bounds. Exploitation requires System execution privileges and no user interaction; the bounded consequence is disclosure of modem-process memory.
