Local privilege escalation via radio configuration stack clash
Published Dec 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 18, 2025
Memory corruption in rild_exynos on Google Pixel devices with the Android kernel allows local users to escalate privileges. RadioImpl::setCdmaBroadcastConfig mishandles a CDMA broadcast configuration so its stack storage clashes and corrupts memory; Google has not published the marked-private code change. Exploitation requires existing System execution privileges and no user interaction.
