CVE-2022-2057Public exploit

Process crash via unchecked zero output dimensions

Published Jun 30, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Divide-by-zero in tiffcrop in LibTIFF 4.4.0 allows attackers to crash the utility by supplying a crafted TIFF file. computeOutputPixelOffsets accepts a zero output width or length and divides by that unchecked value while calculating page counts. A user or consuming workflow must invoke tiffcrop on the file; the demonstrated consequence is termination of that process, not code execution.
