CarSettings permission bypass in Google Android Automotive OS 10, 11, 12, and 12L allows physically proximate attackers to gain Bluetooth access. CarSettings handles the public Bluetooth device-picker intent as a confused deputy and changes the adapter to connectable-discoverable mode without caller permission. An automotive build with Bluetooth is required; no prior privileges or user interaction are needed, and the consequence is unauthorized Bluetooth discoverability.
