CVE-2022-20411

Adjacent code execution via unchecked AVDTP length

Published Dec 13, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025

Out-of-bounds write in Android 10 through 13 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted Bluetooth AVDTP packet. The avdt_msg_asmbl function in stack/avdt/avdt_msg.cc copies packet data into an assembly buffer without checking that its length fits the remaining space. An attacker must be within Bluetooth range but needs no privileges or user interaction; successful corruption permits code execution in the Bluetooth service context.
