Local privilege escalation via unchecked sysmmu_unmap bounds
Published Sep 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
An out-of-bounds write in the Android kernel allows local users to elevate privileges through the sysmmu_unmap function. A missing bounds check lets sysmmu_unmap write beyond the intended memory region when processing an invalid unmap request. A locally running low-privileged process can trigger the flaw without user interaction and gain elevated privileges on affected Pixel devices.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
