Local privilege escalation via Media use-after-free
Published Aug 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Use-after-free in the Media Framework in Android 13 allows local users to execute code with elevated privileges without user interaction. The Media Framework accesses memory after its lifetime has ended, enabling code execution through the resulting stale reference. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and can elevate the attacker's code within the device security boundary.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
