Local account discovery via missing permission check
Published Aug 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in Android 13 Content allows local users to determine whether a specified account exists on the device. The Content component exposes the account-existence query without enforcing its required permission, returning a presence signal to an unprivileged caller. User-level code is required, but no user interaction is needed; the result reveals account presence without exposing account contents.
