CVE-2022-2030Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated file disclosure via CGI path traversal

Published Jul 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Directory traversal in Zyxel ZLD firewall firmware allows remote authenticated users to read restricted device files through CGI requests. The webauth_example_preview.cgi hname input accepts parent-directory sequences or archive symlinks, while export-cgi omits path validation for dev_info arguments. Admin or limited-admin access is required, and successful exploitation can expose configuration files and password hashes.
