Certificate disclosure via unencoded KeyChain authority
Published Jul 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in Android 10, 11, 12, and 12L allows local users to access a user's certificate through a deceptive KeyChain prompt. KeyChainActivity displays the URI authority supplied to choosePrivateKeyAlias without encoding characters that can alter the security prompt's presentation. A local app needs no additional execution privileges, but a user must approve certificate selection; the private key itself is not reported exposed.
