CVE-2022-20209Network attack vector

Remote information disclosure via heap out-of-bounds read

Published Jun 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in Android 12L Media Framework allows remote attackers to disclose process memory through crafted media input. The hme_add_new_node_to_a_sorted_array function in hme_utils.c reads past a heap buffer boundary while processing attacker-controlled input. No privileges or user interaction are required, and the documented consequence is information disclosure rather than memory modification or service interruption.
