Local information disclosure via incorrect bounds check
Published Jun 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
An out-of-bounds read in Google Pixel Bootloader Android kernel allows local users with System privileges to disclose memory without interaction. The exynos_secEnv_init function in mach-gs101.c applies an incorrect bounds check, allowing a read beyond the intended buffer. Execution with System privileges is required, and disclosure is limited to memory reachable through that bootloader path.
