Remote information disclosure via unchecked NFC notification
Published Jun 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Android 10 through 12L allows remote attackers to disclose information through a crafted NFC notification. The nfc_ncif_proc_ee_discover_req function reads the NFCEE entry count from the packet buffer before verifying that the notification length is nonzero. Exploitation requires an NFC-capable device but no privileges or user interaction, and the disclosed data is limited to adjacent process memory.
