Out-of-bounds write in MediaTek ssmr on Android 11.0 and 12.0 allows local users with System execution privileges to elevate privileges. The ssmr component performs a memory write without the required bounds check, allowing the write to extend beyond its intended buffer. Exploitation requires local access and existing System execution privileges, needs no user interaction, and can raise the attacker's privilege level.
