DLL hijacking in AutomationDirect C-more EA9 programming software before 6.73 allows local users to execute code during installation. The Windows installer searches for a required DLL through an installation-directory element that can contain an attacker-planted library. Execution requires a user to launch the installer after the malicious DLL is placed where the search order selects it, and the code runs with the installer’s privileges.
