Communication denial via continuous crafted packet stream
Published Aug 31, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Uncontrolled resource consumption in AutomationDirect DirectLOGIC DL06 before 2.72 allows remote attackers to block PLC communications. The PLC accepts a continuously transmitted crafted Ethernet packet without limiting the resource consumption that excludes DirectSoft and other devices. Network reachability is sufficient; exploitation requires no credentials or user interaction and interrupts access to the PLC.
