Cleartext password transmission in AutomationDirect DirectLOGIC DL06 firmware before 2.72 allows local users to obtain the PLC password. The CPU serial-port handler returns the stored PLC password in cleartext when it processes a specifically crafted serial message. Physical access to the PLC serial port is required; the disclosed credential permits unauthorized project changes and process interruption.
