CVE-2022-1958Network attack vector

Unauthorized file access via ignored NTFS permissions

Published Jun 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper access control in FileCloud before 21.3.5.18513 allows remote authenticated users to read protected network-folder data. The NTFS handler fails to enforce configured NTFS permissions when serving network folders, exposing data to accounts that those permissions should block. A valid low-privilege account and a deployment using network folders with NTFS permissions are required; published evidence supports read access, not modification or service interruption.
