Settings tampering via unchecked update action
Published Jul 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authorization in Alex King Shortcut Macros 1.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter plugin settings. The settings handler processes ak_action=update_aksm_settings and writes submitted shortcut key and value fields without a capability or CSRF check. Subscriber access is sufficient; a logged-in victim can also be induced to submit the request, and the saved shortcut mappings change despite an access-denied response.
