Unauthenticated file deletion via unchecked AJAX path
Published Jun 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in Expivi 3D Product configurator for WooCommerce before 1.2.32 allows remote attackers to delete server files. The mkl_pc_generate_config_image AJAX action passes attacker-controlled data through save_image() to unlink() without validating or constraining the path. Any file writable by the web-server account can be deleted, allowing site damage or service interruption without an account.
