Victim-context JavaScript via unsanitized Jira titles
Published Jun 6, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in GitLab EE 13.11 through 14.9.4, 14.10 through 14.10.3, and 15.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript as victims. The Jira issue detail view passes an attacker-controlled title through v-safe-html; DOMPurify's default handling leaves a script gadget reachable after cached history navigation. Exploitation requires Premium Jira integration, control of a Jira issue title, and two victim clicks; resulting requests carry the victim's GitLab privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
