Stored XSS via unsanitized X-Forwarded-For header
Published Jul 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Awin Data Feed before 1.8 allows remote attackers to run scripts in an administrator's browser via a crafted header. The public track_user_click AJAX action records the unescaped X-Forwarded-For value and later renders it on the plugin settings page. Exploitation requires a configured feed and a logged-in administrator to open that page, where the stored payload executes in the administrator's browser.
