Unauthenticated SQL injection via unsanitized language parameter
Published Jun 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in Events Made Easy before 2.2.81 allows remote attackers to read WordPress database data through a public AJAX endpoint. The eme_select_country AJAX handler incorporates the lang parameter into an SQL query without sufficient sanitization, escaping, or preparation. A valid nonce obtainable from the public Events page reaches the handler, and injected UNION queries can disclose WordPress usernames and password hashes.
