CVE-2022-1901Network attack vector

Sensitive-variable disclosure via Variable Preview unmasking

Published Aug 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Sensitive-variable exposure in Octopus Server allows remote authenticated users to reveal secrets through Variable Preview. Variable Preview treats VariableEdit as sufficient authorization to unmask stored sensitive-variable values instead of preserving their masked form. The user must hold VariableEdit within the relevant project or environment scope; disclosure remains limited to variables within that scope.
