Stored script execution via nonce-free settings update
Published Jun 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Mark Inderhees Rotating Posts 1.11 and earlier allows remote attackers to change plugin settings. The rp-admin.php settings handler accepts a forged POST without a CSRF token check and stores attacker-controlled rp_read_more HTML. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to load attacker-controlled content; the published form injects script that executes when the stored setting is rendered.
