Settings modification and log purge via nonce-free requests
Published Jun 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
CSRF in Arena MailPress 7.2.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter plugin settings and purge logs by inducing an administrator request. The WordPress settings endpoint accepts attacker-chosen general, SMTP, logging, and test-mail fields without validating a CSRF nonce. A logged-in administrator must visit attacker-controlled content; successful requests can rewrite mail configuration or delete log data.
