Editor crash via recursive command-line expansion

Uncontrolled recursion in Vim before 8.2.4975 allows local users to crash the editor through recursive command-line input. The getcmdline_int function lacks a depth limit when command-line register expansion reenters command-line processing, so repeated nested calls exhaust the stack. Exploitation requires user interaction with crafted command-line input, and the demonstrated consequence is termination of the current Vim process.
