CVE-2022-1764Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via forged settings update

Published Jun 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Stored cross-site scripting in WP-chgFontSize 1.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject script through a forged settings request. The options page accepts a POSTed chgfontsize_div_element setting without a CSRF token, sanitization, or output escaping, storing an injected SVG handler. A logged-in administrator must load the attacker's page; the browser submits the request, and the stored handler executes when affected output is rendered.
