Settings modification via nonce-free administrative POST
Published Jun 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Peter’s Collaboration E-mails 2.2.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter plugin settings. The settings handler at wp-admin/options-general.php?page=peters_collaboration_emails.php processes a crafted POST and writes submitted pce_* values without verifying a WordPress nonce. An authenticated administrator must visit an attacker-controlled page; the request can lower the required role or replace notification text and sender details.
