Code execution and stored XSS via forged settings
Published Jun 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Genki Pre-Publish Reminder 1.4.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter plugin settings. The settings endpoint accepts a forged POST without a CSRF token and stores attacker-supplied HTML and PHP from the list field. An administrator must visit an attacker-controlled page while logged in; the stored payload executes script in WordPress or PHP code on the server.
