Privilege escalation via Android Safe Mode reboot
Published Jun 24, 2022 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Alternate-path protection in Dominion Voting Systems ImageCast X 5.5.10.30 and 5.5.10.32 allows physically proximate attackers to access Android. The device permits a reboot into Android Safe Mode, bypassing the voting application's restricted interface and exposing the underlying operating system. Physical access and an attachable external input device are required; exploitation grants elevated device control and permits malicious code installation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
