NULL pointer dereference in Vim before 8.2.4959 allows local users to crash the editor via crafted regular-expression patterns. Vim's buffer-list matching compiles a user-controlled pattern, then continues through matching paths after the regexp program becomes NULL, causing an unchecked dereference. Exploitation requires opening or editing a crafted pattern locally and interacting with Vim; the demonstrated impact is an application crash without confidentiality or integrity loss.
