Information disclosure in CoreOS Ignition before 2.14.0 allows local users to retrieve secrets via VMware VM metadata. After provisioning, the guestinfo variable or OVF environment retains the Ignition config without access control against unprivileged guest software. Exploitation requires a VMware VM whose retained config contains secrets; the consequence is read-only disclosure of those secrets.
