CVE-2022-1702Network attack vector

User redirection via unchecked external URL

Published May 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Open redirection in SonicWall SMA 1000 firmware 12.4.0 and 12.4.1 allows remote attackers to redirect users to an untrusted site. The affected redirect flow accepts a user-controlled external URL and uses it as the destination without restricting redirects to trusted sites. Exploitation is unauthenticated but requires a user to follow a crafted link, enabling phishing or content-based deception without direct appliance compromise.
