CVE-2022-1700Network attack vector

Information disclosure via external entity expansion

Published Sep 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

XXE in the Forcepoint DLP Policy Engine allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive data by submitting crafted XML documents. The Policy Engine XML parser permits external entities and external DTDs, causing attacker-selected URIs to be resolved during content inspection. Network access to a product path that feeds XML into the Policy Engine is required; Email Security is exposed only when DLP is enabled.
