CVE-2022-1666Network attack vector

Root password disclosure via crackable MD5 hash

Published Jun 24, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Insufficiently protected credentials in Sécheron SEPCOS firmware allow remote authenticated users to recover the web root password. The web application ships a weak default password for its vendor-private root user and protects the credential with a crackable MD5 hash. Network access and a lower-privileged account are required; exploitation reveals the root credential but has no reported integrity or availability impact.
